Sasuke

He’s six years old and he’s waited a few years for his sister and brothers to have their time in

the spotlight. This spring, I showed him for the first time since my son finished his AKC Grand

Championship in 2023, and in April, he was Best of Breed, Working Group 3rd and Owner

Handler Group 2nd in WI. I was really happy about this start — it feels good when your results

exceed your plans. Then a little break for “life be lifeing” and we’ve shown three consecutive

weekends, each better than the last, culminating (with much assistance!) in me showing my

first dog-of-my-own-breeding in Best In Show on the day after Independence Day.

Sasuke (pronounced Sahs-kay — it’s Japanese from anime) is virtually everything I was hoping

to combine from his father, Frodo, and his mother, Celty. Square profile, virtuous and balanced

angles, dynamic movement, with a true, hard-as-nails, weatherproof jacket and a beautiful

head, Sasuke is also calm in his focus but strong-minded, intelligent and intent. He has OFA

Good hips and normal elbows and eyes, and is DCM negative. He’s from lines carefully curated

and known parent-to-offspring continuously for over half a century. His Sire is Frodo, GCHP

CH Halcyon’s All You Need Is Love, CGC, himself a sire of 18 Champions, including another

Platinum GCH (Leo), a Best in Show winning GCHG (Karma), and a National Specialty winning

GCHS (Roger), and a performance prodigy (Loki).
