The Journey

Robyn brings a distinct, analytical passion to the Standard Schnauzer community. Long before stepping into the ring, she dedicated herself to the academic heart of preservation breeding—conducting pedigree research, studying health genetics, and diving deep into the history of the breed. As the newest breeder-handler of the group, Robyn is thrilled to be taking the next natural step in her journey: stepping into the conformation and performance rings to handle and prove her own dogs.

The Focus

For Robyn, breeding is a global endeavor. She has focused her efforts on forging meaningful, collaborative relationships with passionate preservation breeders both across the United States and abroad to expand the possibilities for black dogs. Her breeding philosophy centers on the “total package”: producing black Standard Schnauzers that possess the structure required for the show ring, the biddability and focus to excel in performance sports, and the solid temperament to be exceptional, beloved indoor family companions.

Vision for the Initiative

As the strategic, research-driven architect of the group, Robyn sees The Black Dog Initiative as the ultimate realization of teamwork. “True collaboration means combining different strengths. By blending thorough pedigree analysis with the collective experience of our team, we are opening doors to international bloodlines that will define the future of the black Standard Schnauzer.
