About Kismet
Kismet represents an exciting milestone in our collaborative vision for The Black Dog Initiative. Moving into our home in April 2026, she immediately fit right into family life, bringing everything you could ever ask for in a Standard Schnauzer. She shares the same calm, steady confidence as her brother, Sasuke, combined with a natural athleticism and a genuine love for training.
While Kismet plays an important role in our team’s future breeding plans, our top priority has been ensuring she is fully and comfortably settled into her life with us here in Colorado as a cherished family member first.
Training & Achievements
Kismet joined us as a finished conformation champion, proving her quality in the ring early on. Now, we’re focusing on her next chapters in performance and partnership:
- Foundation Training: As a dedicated follower of Susan Garrett’s training philosophies and a Recallers alumni, I am currently taking Kismet through the Recallers ranks to build a strong, joyful foundation based on positive reinforcement and games.
- Performance Sports: She is actively training in both Rally and Barn Hunt, putting her natural intelligence, focus, and drive to work in sports we both love.
Kismet truly embodies the spirit of BDI: exceptional conformation, a balanced and confident temperament, and the versatile athletic mindset that makes the Standard Schnauzer so special
